GAIT Professional Development Webinar Series 

In early November 2019, GAIT held its first webinar in collaboration with the Department of Educational Technology and Foundations (ETF) at UWG, and the Georgia Library Media Association (GLMA). The organization has continued hosting professional development webinars scheduled sporadically on a variety of topics. Please contact the GAIT President if you are interested in hosting a webinar.

​Maker-centered instruction is an innovative approach that teaches subject content through manipulating and constructing meaningful artifacts. Maker-centered instruction is typically physically sited. However, the COVID 19 pandemic has accelerated the transition of maker-centered instruction to online format. This webinar will share the strategies and practices of making maker-centered instruction virtual with a focus on teacher professional development. The effects of the strategies and practices on teachers’ knowledge and skills will also be discussed.
